« Picasso 1969-1972: the beginning of the end » | Exhibition in Antibes
2023 marks the 50th anniversary of Pablo Picasso’s death in Mougins, April 8, 1973. Picasso spent the last 12 years of his life in Mougins and resided on the Côte d’Azur on and off since 1946.
To celebrate the artist’s life and art in France, the Côte d’Azur is holding a major exhibition in its Picasso Museum in Antibes, entitled « Picasso 1969-1972: the beginning of the end ». It runs April 8 through July 2, 2023, with the exceptional support of the Musée national Picasso-Paris..
The Picasso Celebration 1973-2023 is initiated by the Musée national Picasso-Paris, and Bernard Picasso, grandson of the artist and president of the FABA* and the Picasso Museum in Malaga. It is structured around fifty exhibitions, and events to be held in renowned cultural institutions internationally.
His art will be celebrated in France, Spain and internationally. His works will be showcased to highlight their relevance to audiences today and to further the understanding of his works.

France & Spain will be celebrating the artist Pablo Picasso on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his death in Mougins where he spent the last 12 years of his life. There are three major Picasso museums in France—one in Paris & two on the Côte d’Azur—in Antibes and Vallauris (The National Picasso Museum ”War and Peace).
