With increasing growth in France as a cruise destination, Atout France and its partners, destinations of maritime cruises, have analyzed an inventory of the arrivals passengers in the 95 French ports and sites of call. In 2016, cruise destinations in mainland France and overseas regions received 5.4 million stopover passenger arrivals, +16.2 % compared to 2015.
While the Mediterranean is the number one cruise destination in France (2.58 million passenger arrivals and 541 380 passengers at home port), the increase in passenger arrivals is due to a 7.9% increase of passenger stopovers between 2015 and 2016.
With 32 maritime cruise destinations, offering 95 ports and stopovers, in 7 seas and oceans, France benefits from a unique competitive advantage.
