There is quite a bit of hotel news—particularly in the Loire Valley, with new luxury hotels in Blois and Tours or significant re-openings, like in Amboise. And let’s not forget an opening this summer of a beauty in Champagne and in the fall the inauguration of two unique Paris hotels.

Loire Valley Hotel News

  1. In Blois the high-end 5-star Fleur de Loire was inaugurated June 30 2022. Housed in a former 17th century hospice at the heart of this royal town, it boasts 44 rooms overlooking the Loire River, two restaurants—the gastronomic Christophe Hay Restaurant restaurant and also piloted by Chef Hay, the Amour Blanc—a Sisley spa and bakery kiosk.

  2. In Amboise, after an 8-month renovation the Manoir des Minimes re-opened in January 2022 to become the royal city’s first 5-star hotel. Set in an 18th century building at the foot of the Château d’Amboise, Le Manoir Les Minimes boasts 15 stylish & air-conditioned rooms. The manor also features a gourmet bistro-market so guests may shop for a picnics or dine at the hotel’s restaurant or terrace overlooking the Loire and the royal Château of Amboise.

  3. Tours welcomed the 5-star hotel known as Les Tresorières in November of 2021. This boutique luxury hotel is situated at the heart of the old district of Tours and just a two-minute walk from its gastronomic center the very contemporary covered market of Les Halles de Tours. The intimate but spacious hotel (a 3767 square foot courtyard) features a 21rooms and one suite, a wellness center with pool.

New Player in the Champagne Region

In Mutigny, just 15mn from Epernay and 30mn from Reims, the Loisium Wine & Spa Hotel Champagne will open August 1. This new 4-star hotel sits on a hill at the heart of the Mutigny vineyard. It will offer 101 contemporary wood panelled rooms & suites, a spacious spa and outdoor pool, and feature a brasserie with 180-degree views of the vineyard and the forest, a gastronomic restaurant and Champagne bar.

What’s happening in Paris

  1. Maisons Pariente —the small group of family-owned boutique luxury hotels—will ll open its first Paris hotel in October 2022. Called Le Grand Mazarin. This 5-star luxury is located in the Marais and very close to Paris City Hall and the Seine River. The elegant décor is conceived by Swedish interior designer Martin Brudnizki. In its 54 rooms and 7 suites Le Grand Mazarin revisits French classicism with a touch of contemporary refinement. It will also offer guests a restaurant with terrace and a spa with heated pool.

  2. Heads up—Fashion icon Elle magazine is launching through Elle Hospitality two hotel brands, Maison Elle and Elle Hotels. This fall the first Maison Elle will open in Paris, conceived & designed in partnership with Studio V Hospitality.
