50th Anniversary of the Foundation Maeght - Saint-Paul-de-Vence
Inaugurated in July 1964 in the village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, the Foundation Maeght was born from the friendship of Aimé Maeght, art dealer and gallery owner in Paris, with ties to the great names of modern art: including Joan Miró, Alexander Calder, Fernand Léger, Georges Braque, Alberto Giacometti, Marc Chagall and Eduardo Chillida. In 2014, the Maeght Foundation invites art lovers to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary in Saint-Paul-de-Vence with dedicated anniversary exhibitions all year-long as well as exhibits celebrating the milestone throughout France, including: The Picasso Museum in Antibes, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nice, the National Museum Marc Chagall in Nice among many others.

A Renowned Film Destination
The Côte d’Azur is also a sought after film location and destination. Known as the French Hollywood, the region is especially attractive to the film industry, with its idyllic setting, mild winters, remarkable landscapes and superb light. The Côte d’Azur invites visitors to follow in the footsteps of their favorite stars who shot films in the region. The following movies which were filmed in the region will be released in 2014 (exact dates TBD), showcasing the Riviera’s crucial importance in the film industry:

• Grace of Monaco, Directed by Olivier Dahan and starring Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly. Film will open the Cannes Film Festival in 2014.
• Magic in the Moonlight, Woody Allen’s latest film starring Colin Firth and Emma Stone which is set in 1920s France.
• L’homme que l’on aimait trop, A film by André Téchiné with Catherine Deneuve, Guillaume Canet that is based on real events.
• The Price of Désiré, Directed by Mary McGuckian. Starring Orla Brady, Caitriona Balfe, Alanis Morissette and Vincent Perez.
• Minuscule: Valley of the Lost Ants, Hélène Giraud and Thomas Szabo’s Minuscule: Valley of the Lost Ants follows the day-to-day existence of anthropomorphic insects.

From towering peaks over 10,000 feet above sea level to the Alpine foothill plains, cross-country and alpine skiing enthusiasts can take advantage of more than 400 miles of trails in sunny countryside with an incomparable range of scenery. New Côte d’Azur Card, Available April 2014
Starting this April, the very affordable and convenient new Cote d’Azur Card will give visitors easy access to more than 100 activities that include museums, tours and other sites throughout the region.
Two options are available:

• 3 consecutive days: 39 € for adults, 21 € for children*
• 6 consecutive days: 54 € for adult, 29 € for children *

Easily Accessible from Many European and International Destinations
The Côte d’Azur is within three hours of over 30 European destinations. It offers a wide range of themed stays all year round. Thanks to France’s second largest airport, Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport, the French Riviera is easily accessible from over 33 countries, more than 100 destinations and is served by 53 airlines. The airport is located in the heart of the Côte d’Azur with public transportation to the main cities:

• To Nice city center (4.5 miles): A direct “Ligne d’Azur” shuttle connects the airport to the Nice railway
• To Cannes (21.5 miles) / To Monaco (15 miles): Express lines from the airport by highway to the main cities

Regular shuttles are also available by helicopter to Monaco (7 minutes flights – $137/person/one way)

Superb Public Transportation
