FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEW YORK, NY, DECEMBER 2, 2013 – The Musée des Arts Décoratifs is happy to announce the exhibition "Inspirations," a rare glimpse into the creative process of Belgian fashion designer Dries van Noten, on view from March 1 to August 31, 2014. The first exhibition in Paris dedicated to the designer, it aims to showcase his creations among his wide variety of inspirations, which range from artworks from Bronzino, Kees Van Dongen, Yves Klein, Viktor Vasarely, Francis Bacon, Elisabeth Peyton, and Damien Hirst to evoking Stanley Kubrick's "Clockwork Orange" and Jane Campions "The Piano."
In preparation for this exhibition, Van Noten likewise drew inspiration from the museum's archives and selected 19th century prints whose influence was seen in his menswear spring/summer 2014 collection, unveiled on June 27th, 2013 during the Paris men's fashion week.
