Paris becomes 1st “Gaytravel Approved” City in Europe

Gay Pride Paris
Press release

For the very first time, Paris is awarded first European Gaytravel Approved® destination, GayTravel.com being one of the top inspiration websites for LGBTQ travelers, reaching out over a million gay and lesbian consumers each year

This distinction, done by experts, influencers and editors working for the most trusted resource, is a significant signal for the capital as it recognizes the long term policy pursued by the Paris Convention & Visitors Bureau along with the Paris City Hall.

Member of the IGLTA network and lately also distinguished by MisterBnB, this selection among numerous cities underlines the importance for Paris to reinforce its position:

“This is great honor for Paris to be awarded 1st Gay Travel Approved® City in Europe! It’s rewarding to be presented as a leading key destination for LGBTQ visitors, especially in 2018, when targeted programming is very rich, with the holding of the 10th edition of the Gay Games next August”, said Pierre Schapira, President of the Paris Convention & Visitors Bureau

With an ever-changing and evolving offer (hotels, tours, clubs, etc.), the capital is a key reference when it comes to hospitality. No doubt this award will strengthen the place of the capital in international itineraries and networks”.

Jean-François Martins, Deputy Mayor of Paris in charge of Sports and Tourism also declares :”as Paris wants to be the city that welcome the most and the best, we are proud to be the 1st Gay Travel Approved® City in Europe. It is the fruit of a daily work of the City and of all the professionals of the tourism sector to improve our offer and our hospitality to match everyone’s expectation. Paris is proud to be a city of freedom & equal rights and intends to stay a welcoming city for everyone”.

Good addresses to discover the capital, in gay or lesbian friendly modes, are numerous, and dedicated events (including the Marche des Fiertés as well as the Quinzaine des Fiertés, festivals, exhibitions, etc.) are recognized everywhere, beyond our borders and touch all fields.

“Paris,” GayTravel.com’s editor Charlie Rounds says, “has long been a favorite LGBTQ destination, and GayTravel’s Gurus and editors have experienced the savoir-faire, or sophistication, of its people and the inclusiveness of its culture first-hand. Therefore, it is our sincere privilege to bestow the title of GayTravel Approved® 2018 upon the city of Paris, France.”
