Originally coined the "Cultural Center of Bordeaux Wine," this wine-focused hub is now going by a new name. An innovative multicultural center, the space will bring new life to the world of wine through acting as a museum, cultural and tourist center, tasting space, restaurant, wine bar, and cinema. The exhibits will feature interactive displays, 3D projections, holograms, and sensory experiences in order to showcase ancient and modern winemaking techniques.

Musée Soulages

Dedicated to Pierre Soulages, this museum is located in the acclaimed painter's hometown. Nearly 500 works worth approximately €40 million will be on display, featuring many of the artist's early works.

Paris Philharmonic

Contemporary architect Jean Nouvel is designing the new Philharmonic in the Parc de la Villette in Paris, located near the Cité de la Musique. The new symphony hall will seat 2,400 people, include a restaurant, multimedia department, library, and rehearsal rooms. The design is unique in that it is not separated into different floors, but each floor will merge into each other.

Discovered in 1994, the Chauvet cave is regarded as the world's oldest cave paintings (36,000 B.C). By the end of 2014, a facsimili of the cave and a discovery center where visitors can admire more than 425 paintings and engravings of prehistoric animals will be open to the public.

Confluences Museum

Within the Quartier de la Confluence urban development and reclamation project, which transformed the traditionally industrial tip of the city’s southern peninsula into green space, Lyon will open the Musée des Confluence in December 2014. Dedicated to science, art and society, the museum will feature eight rooms (four permanent exhibition areas and four temporary exhibition areas) with different circulating exhibitions covering topics such as: genetic modification, exchange and innovation, origins of life, biodiversity, global-warming, geopolitics and social behavior.

National Sports Museum

A new National Sports Center has been set up to accompany the stadium recently opened to the west of city. In a dedicated facility of 53,800 square feet (5,000 square meters), Nice can boast no fewer than 100,000 items previously exhibited at the Parc des Princes in Paris.

New Green Corridor

Renewal of Nice's port and city center now includes a Green Corridor (Corridor Vert) similar to the green High Line in NYC. The 30-acre (12-hectare) park connects the Cultural Center of Nice to the Museum of Modern Art and Contemporary Art (MAMAC) and the Promenade des Anglais. An 86,000-square-foot (8,000-square-meter) space is available for events.
