
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 18, 2015 American Airlines, the sole major U.S. carrier to service Martinique’s Aimé Césaire International Airport, is now operating weekly Saturday, non-stop flights to Martinique via its hub, Miami International Airport. During the winter season, American Airlines added a midweek flight on Wednesday out of Miami, and this summer on June 5th, the airline will increase service to Martinique by offering four weekly flights on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. Beginning July 3rd, this air service will to daily flights from Miami to Fort-de-France except on Wednesdays. Seaborne Airlines, the other airliner that services Martinique from U.S. via San Juan, Puerto Rico, now operates three, weekly nonstop flights to Martinique on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Martinique is additionally accessible from nearby islands: Martinique is only a few minutes away from St. Lucia (20 minutes) and from the island of Guadeloupe (45 minutes) with connections on Air Caraïbes, LIAT, and Air Antilles Express. Air Antilles flies into Martinique several times a day to and from Guadeloupe and St Martin, as well as Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) and St. Barth. From Miami International Airport, Air France flies three times a week.
