4th Annual Fête de la Gastronomie Announces Food & Wine Events, Tastings & More This September

JULY 9, 2014** – This September, foodies and oenophiles will delight in the 4th edition of France's upcoming Fête de la Gastronomie, showcasing the best of France's food and wine offerings from September 26-28. Visitors can traverse the myriad events throughout France and discover why French cuisine is officially recognized by UNESCO as a "world intangible heritage."

With over 7,000 events registered in 2013's rendition, from Paris to country villages, 2014 promises to be just as inspiring and will revolve around the theme of "L'amour des gestes et de savoir-faire" (Love of technique and savoir-faire). Highlighting the importance of culinary transmission, the theme also aims to explore the inventiveness and audacity of those who dare to play with traditional mores, experimenting with new flavor combinations and juxtaposing colors.

Under the patronage of Chef Guillaume Gomez, awarded the title Meilleur Ouvrier de France and one of the chefs at the Elysée Palace, the event was officially launched on June 4. Events ranging from picnics, market festivities, cooking workshops, tastings, visits to emblematic culinary destinations have thus far been registered. Please consult the growing list here.
