FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEW YORK, NY, May 22, 2014 - Europe's largest, the Bordeaux Wine Festival, will take place from Thursday, June 26th to Sunday, 29th June 2014 on the banks of the Garonne river. Focusing on the wines of Bordeaux and the Aquitaine region, this event has attracted over 500,000 visitors in past years. This year's ninth rendition will highlight the 50th anniversary of the twinning of Bordeaux and its sister city in the US, Los Angeles, who will also be the guest of honor.
A 1.2 mile long wine along the city's World Heritage Port of the Moon will enable visitors with a Tasting Pass to discover some 80 Bordeaux and Aquitaine appellations. They will also be able to converse with winegrowers and wine merchants at the ten Appellation Pavilions and Vintage Pavilions.
Numerous activities and special events
For the first time in the event's history, the festival will continue elsewhere in the city with exhibitions and ephemeral artworks created by Californian artists at the CAPC Modern Art Museum. In addition, restaurants will feature special Bordeaux Wine Festival menus. The Bordeaux Wine School will offer several introductory wine courses every day during the festival. The 1855 Passport will let visitors take part in Master Classes tasting classes on great classified growths in the prestigious drawing rooms of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Visitors can also discover a variety of books on wine thanks to the Cuvée Littéraire. Furthermore, there will be a movie theater which will screen classic Hollywood films and visitors can enjoy a walk through the Jardin des Arts, where street artists will customize giant wine bottles.
The Bordeaux Wine Festival will also host the Bordeaux Music Festival from June 26-29, an XXL sound and light show entitled "Rendez-vous à Bordeaux", and an international pyrotechnic festival every evening on the river banks. With the Vineyard Pass, visitors will discover notable vineyards and beautiful châteaux around Bordeaux and taste the region's renowned wines. Different tours will depart everyday from the festival.
