Norwegian Air returns to the Guadeloupe Islands this winter with increased airlift and a new route out of Providence

Press release

Norwegian Air returns to the Guadeloupe Islands this winter with increased airlift with six weekly out of New York (JFK), three weekly out of Fort Lauderdale (FLL), and opening a new route out of Providence (PVD).

Norwegian Air, Europe’s Best Low-Cost Airline, will resume its seasonal winter service to the Guadeloupe Islands for a third consecutive season. Nonstop flights from New York (JFK), Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Providence (PVD) to Guadeloupe (PTP) will begin on October 29th 2017.

“We look forward to touching down in Guadeloupe again for the winter season 2017/18. This hidden gem in the Caribbean will now have 11 flights from the US every week, more than any airline has ever operated before. With three such great catchment areas like New York City, Providence/Greater Boston/Connecticut and Fort Lauderdale/Miami/South Florida, we are opening up the Guadeloupe Islands to so many American travelers looking for a unique Caribbean experience,” said Thomas Ramdahl, Chief Commercial Officer, Norwegian Air.

Service will be significantly increased out of New York with six weekly flights (everyday but Wednesday). Flights will operate three times a week out of Fort Lauderdale and twice weekly out of Providence to Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe. Tickets are now available for purchase at norwegian.com/us with fares as low as $79 one-way, taxes included.

“The new connection from Providence, with its great proximity to both Boston and Connecticut, is exciting as it will allow more Americans travelers much smoother and more affordable access to the Guadeloupe Islands. In the last two years our French Caribbean archipelago has become the Top Emerging Destination in the US. After major recognition in the media and now with almost daily flights out of JFK, we are thrilled to be able to deliver a highly flexible air offer to the New Yorkers. Additional frequencies out of Fort Lauderdale are excellent news for the Cruise industry,” said Sandra Venite, USA Director, Guadeloupe Islands Tourist Board.
