Popular Paris Plages to Re-open in 2016

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NEW YORK, NY (May 2, 2016) - For more than 14 years, Paris Plages has been inviting Parisians and tourists to enjoy leisure time in the sun and sand along the banks of the Seine River and around the French capital. From July 18th to August 21st 2016, the popular outdoor and active initiative will encourage people of all walks of life to enjoy a sandy environment on one of the three, man-made, temporary beaches: at the Voie Georges Pompidou (1st and 4th arrondissements), the Bassin de la Villette (19th arrondissement) and just outside l’Hôtel de Ville (4th arrondissement). The 2016 season of Paris Plages will feature numerous leisure, active and culturally dynamic activities, including: bowling, ballroom dancing, tai-chi, baby-foot, Zumba. Deckchairs and beach bars will also be at the various locations, welcoming sun-seekers the chance to unwind outdoors. Water sports lovers can explore la Villette Marina, where they can enjoy rowing, canoeing, kayaking and pedal boating. Paris Plages aims to foster a festive and relaxing atmosphere for which Parisians and tourists alike can escape and spend a moment with family or friends outside for free.
