Joan of Arc History Museum in Rouen The story of Joan of Arc is intrinsically linked with that of Rouen. It was here that she was tried and burnt at the stake in 1431 and, after a second trial in 1456, exonerated. The Joan of Arc History Centre will be housed in the magnificent 15th century Archbishop’s Palace, adjacent to the cathedral, where both of Joan’s trials took place. This €10 million project will combine a state of the art immersive exhibition space with comprehensive historical content. Sculptures, photographs and personal letters too will help lift the veil on the personal worlds of the great masters.
