This exceptional exhibition will take place from April 15 to August 28, 2022 at the Cité du Vin in Bordeaux. Picasso and wine, the fifth temporary exhibition at the Cité du Vin, will be dedicated to one of the greatest artists of the 20th century: Picasso. A first in Bordeaux!
The Cité du Vin has invited historian and art critic Stéphane Guégan, as scientific curator, to devise an ambitious, original and wide-audience exhibition shedding light on the work of Pablo Picasso in an unprecedented way.
The exhibition will bring together more than eighty works, sixty of them by Picasso, thanks to the support of museums, in particular the exceptional participation of the Picasso Museums in Paris and Barcelona, as well as the generosity of private collectors. For the first time, the exhibition explores the place of wine in the artist’s work, transcending creative periods, stylistic inspirations and techniques.
It is the fifth temporary exhibit organized by the Cité du Vin Foundation.
